Bridal Shower Afternoon Tea Party Ideas

When the time comes to host a bridal shower, one of the most important things is finding out what the bride-to-be wants.  If the bride doesn’t appreciate the theme, or can’t feel comfortable due to the venue, or feels rushed because of the date, then she can’t kick back and enjoy herself like she should for her party.  So, if your friend asks for a bridal shower afternoon tea party, do the planning and then host the best party you know how.

If it seems to you like the idea of a bridal shower afternoon tea party is enormously traditional, that’s because it is.  It’s a classic way of throwing a bridal shower that is still popular after all these years.  So, the party should probably be held in the type of venue that would be traditional for this, as well.  This can be a restaurant that has an outdoor area, a historical landmark with plenty of room to party, or at the home of the friend or family-member that has the most beautiful garden and enough room.  Wherever it is held should scream “high tea.”

The planner has to take the time to make up a proper guest list for this style of party.  That way, guests can be informed of the date and time, and the location, of the party as soon as the venue itself is booked.  Make sure not to send out any invitations until you are sure that the venue has been booked properly.

The next thing to look at is the menu for the party.  This will be afternoon tea, so find plenty of fine teas which are both caffeinated and decaffeinated.  It is possible that the venue that you have selected will already have a selection of teas available.  That should be discussed with the venue proprietor, but if they are available it can make the entire experience much easier.  Then, the planner just needs to consider the food that will be had there.  Finger foods and crackers, also known as biscuits, make the ideal snacks for a bridal shower afternoon tea party.  It could also be that the venue will supply this food, too, as well as service.  If they offer it, take advantage, since anything that makes the party run smoother is something that you want to have.  If, however, the venue is a private residence, then select a group of girls that can work together to get all the food and drink ready.

Whatever it takes, putting together a bridal shower afternoon tea party can be a lot of fun, as well as a lot of hard work.  Putting the effort in for the bride-to-be is one of the things that shows her how dedicated of friends she has.  By giving her one of the best times of her life before the wedding, she’ll be certain to remember to spend time with the most important people in her life after the wedding.
