4th of July Bridal Shower

The simplest ideas are often the best.  Many times people try too over complicate things, and end up stressing themselves out over the little details and spending a lot more time and money then they need to.  Here are some great ideas to use for your 4th of July themed bridal shower.

The first question most people ask is, what should I serve at this party? Well let’s start with beverages.  First you can make multiple kinds of punch, a red punch and even a blue look really nice when you add white sherbet, even add some fruit for more color and flavor.  Also, soda can be added for some fizz or booze for a more adult style shower.  If it’s a mixed group you can use your different colors to specify which is the adult and which is the kid friendly drink.

You can bake your own cake instead of making or buying a large cake.  Why not make cupcakes, which are very in vogue right now. It’s an individual serving of cake already portioned out, so no messing around with trying to cut the cake in the middle of a party.

It also gives you the opportunity to continue your color theme.  If you are feeling ambitious you can color code and make a flag out of your cupcakes, or decorate them with red, white and blue star sprinkles.

Another food idea is to have a fruit tray with blueberries, and strawberries, and a white fruit dip. It goes with the theme, but is a light refreshing snack for the hot summer months. Depending on when you are planning the shower, if it’s after the 4th of July holiday, you can often find a lot of decorations on sale.  Keep this in mind when planning your event.

Looking for a good “razzing the bride” gift idea?  Find a 4th of July bag and fill it with items that you would find at a 4th of July picnic and then attach personalized notes to each item.  For example, get a firecracker with a tag stating “to keep things colorful in your marriage”, or a bottle of hot sauce “to keep things spicy”.

Lastly, here is a simple idea for your favors. You can get clear bags with red, white, and blue M&M’s that have the bride and grooms names and the date of their wedding on them.  Hopefully, these tips and ideas have gotten your creative juices flowing, and your shower turns out to be everything your bride wants.
